HAZWANI RAZAK / SOFTWARE ENGINEER

Penang, Malaysia
A little introduction

Hi, I’m Wani.
I build software
that runs the work.

Me, probably debugging something.

From a controller reading a building’s sensors to the app in someone’s hand. I’ve spent my career connecting those pieces—and keeping them working after launch.

01 / SELECTED WORK

A few things
I’ve put into the world.

CORE PRODUCT WORK / IoT & FACILITY SOFTWARE

FMC

Facility Management Cloud & Controller

A platform connecting building controllers, live monitoring, alarms and operational workflows. My work crossed the controller, backend, web and mobile layers.

I helped move the 2D graphics engine from PHP to JavaScript, built messaging integrations, and worked on CMMS, DCIM, logging and reporting—from design through deployment and support.

MOBILE / FREELANCE

iOSAndroid

One Flutter app.
Two store releases.

I built and shipped a lifestyle application with localisation, sensor-driven features, background audio and dark mode. The job included platform permissions, signing, store requirements and release updates.

PRODUCT MODULES / PROFESSIONAL WORK

The operations
behind the interface.

CMMS

Assets, maintenance requests and work orders. I contributed to workflows, interfaces, APIs and database design.

DCIM

Rack and equipment information, facility views and monitoring. I worked on product features and the systems supporting them.

02 / INSIDE THE WORK

Some decisions
behind the code.

The parts of engineering I enjoy: following a problem across the system and figuring out where the fix belongs.

Notes from my professional work. Public lab demos use illustrative data.
01

Keeping heavy work off the realtime path

Historical reporting could compete with live application work. I used Node.js worker threads for aggregation and kept raw records until processing succeeded, so failed batches could be retried.

02

Protecting sessions across server processes

A full-session write could overwrite a concurrent change from another process. Targeted atomic updates, session revalidation and permission checks helped keep state and realtime events scoped to the right workspace.

03

Working within the controller’s limits

On low-spec controllers, storage and memory matter. I implemented binary logging and alarm storage in C++, and connected native device functions to the Node.js application layer.

04

Making 3D behave like part of the application

For facility interfaces, I worked on camera controls, raycasting, selection and data-bound objects. I also managed scene-resource cleanup as views and models changed.

03 / BACKGROUND

An engineer who
stays with the product.

My experience grew through building a product over years: learning its hardware, writing its services, shipping its interfaces and supporting it in production.

I started as a software engineer in 2019 and progressed to a senior role in 2023. Alongside development, I’ve reviewed code, guided junior engineers, managed deployments and investigated issues across the stack.
